Invitation to participate at NACLIS 2017 

Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) proudly announces about its big event, the National Conference on Library & Information Science (NACLIS 2017). This year the theme of the Conference is “Social Impact of Librarianship: scholarship towards sustainable development goals,” which reflects the UN 2020 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The conference will be held on 29th June 2017 at Grand Oriental Hotel (located at 02 York Street, Colombo – 01) (visit Grand Oriental Hotel) SLLA has invited Professor S.A. Ariyadurai, Vice Chancellor of the Open University of Sri Lanka, as our Chief Guest. The keynote speaker is Professor Eduardo Alentejo da Silva, Director of the School of Library Science, Federal University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UNIRIO), Brazil. An interesting invited speech will be delivered by Ms. Shafina Segon from Taylor & Francis. Most importantly, presenters from different library sectors in Sri Lanka will present their research and concepts.

Participants are kindly requested to register and confirm their participation by furnishing the registration form. Presenters are required to pay their registration fees well in advance to avoid the last-minute hassles.

Vijita de Silva Research Award 2016/17 in Library & Information Science new animated

The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) is pleased to announce the Vijita de Silva Research Award’ the annual research award for the best completed research in Library and Information Science (LIS) field in Sri Lanka. The award comprises a cash grant of Rs 50,000.00 and a certificate. In the event the award is given to two researches, each will receive Rs 25,000.00 and a certificate.

Call for papers 

National Conference on Library and Information Science (NACLIS 2017) is a platform for sharing research findings and knowledge of library and information professionals from different sectors in Sri Lanka.  This conference will be hosted by Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) to enable the young researchers and librarians who march towards sustainable development goals through library and information services.

One of the important objectives of the conference is to materialize the concept and proposals in the real world context with possible level of novel technology embedded in the library sector. We cordially invite contributions as extended abstract or full papers from library professionals and researchers from Sri Lanka. Call for articles to Sri Lanka Library Review (SLLR)

Sri Lanka Library Review (SLLR) is the official journal of the Sri Lanka Library Association. All articles published in the Sri Lanka Library Review will be peer reviewed by at least two experts in relevant fields. 

The Publication Committee wishes to receive articles from the members, for the Sri Lanka Library Review, Vol. 31, to be published in June 2017. Articles will be accepted till 28th of Feburary 2017. Please follow the guidelines on submitting articles. Your may submit articles written in Sinhala, Tamil or English. Training of Core Trainers on Professional Conduct &Ethics (PCE)

The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) is calling Expression of Interest from SLLA members and other Library and Information  (LIS) professionals to be trained as Core Trainers on Professional Conduct & Ethics (PCE).
