Call for Sponsorship for NACLIS 2012
Sponsorship for the National Conference in Library & Information Science (NACLIS) and the AGM of the Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) on 22nd & 23rd June 2012.
The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA) is the professional association of Librarians and Information Professionals in Sri Lanka. There are more than 8000 libraries in Sri Lanka serving Schools, Universities, Postgraduate institutes, Tertiary Education Institutes, Research Institutes, Government Departments, Provincial Councils, Local Government Authorities, foreign agencies, NGOs, Private sector organizations etc. As you may be aware libraries and librarians are playing an increasingly crucial role in country’s development process by providing information to students, academics, researchers, decision makers, public/private sector institutions and to the general public.
The SLLA in conducting its National Conference in Library Information Sciences (NACLIS) and 52nd Annual General Meeting on 22nd June 2012 at Hotel Renuka and at the Sri Lanka Foundation Institute respectively. The theme of the 2012 NACLIS is ‘Empowering Users, Libraries, and Librarians in the Knowledge Society’. Being the main professional forum in the library and information field NACLIS attracts a lot of attention at national and international levels. After NACLIS all professional librarians will gather at the Annual General Meeting. Both these occasions are the leading events in the library profession in Sri Lanka.
